Bidding was fierce for the 2017 LaFerrari Aperta that closed the event and topped sales at $9.9 million — a world record for a 21st-century automobile — all of which will be donated to the Save the Children charity for an international program focused on education.

Following closely behind was the numbers-matching 1959 Ferrari 250 GT LWB California Spider by Scaglietti, chassis no. 1503 GT, which made $9.4 million.

And the 1969 “barn find” Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona Berlinetta Alloy, the only road-going alloy Daytona in existence, sold for $2.1 million to become the most valuable Daytona coupe ever sold at public auction.
