Los Angeles, CA — With April designated as Parkinson’s Awareness Month, the non-profit Drive Toward a Cure (DTC) is going into high gear for its second annual California Adventure fundraising event.
New this year is Hagerty’s addition of select vehicles — part of its DriveShare car sharing rental platform — available for both the Northern California and Southern Californiastarting points of the charity rally. Any DTC registrant over the age of 30 who’s licensed in the United States can participate in the DriveShare program.
As part of Hagerty’s partnership with the non-profit organization, the company will provide 100% of its service fees and profit from all rentals during the event directly to Drive Toward a Cure.
The May 3-6 event is a four-day, three-night luxury rally that will provide a weekend of drives on great roads, relaxation, wine tasting, camaraderie, outstanding food, a competitive special stage driving test and memorable stops along the way — including private tours of priceless car collections. While one group will depart from the Los Angeles area, another will begin in the Monterey Bay region and both will converge at the famed Alisal Guest Ranch and Resort in the Santa Barbara wine region of Central California for the balance of the weekend.
Over the past year, DTC has raised more than $50,000 to contribute to both the Michael J. Fox Foundation and the Parkinson’s Institute and Clinical Center — providing financial assistance for both research and patient programs.
