Schedule Your Monterey M’sports Park Model Tour During Car Week

Monterey, CA – The developers of the successful Garages Unlimited of Monterey have received Planning Dept. approval from the City of Monterey for their next foray into the car condo market on the Peninsula. The four-building 90,000 sq. ft. complex anticipates groundbreaking in August and occupancy starting in the 2nd quarter of 2019. Some 55% of the units have already been sold.
Prospective buyers attending August’s vintage races, concours events, etc. can schedule a tour of a fully-furnished sales model of an MMP luxury garage condo. Eighty-four units ranging from 700-4,250 sq. ft. are planned, with even larger options by combining units. Available features include ceilings up to 25 feet with room for a 13-ft.-high mezzanine, internet/phone/cable hookups, oversized rollup doors, separate walk-in doors and entry canopies. Prices range from $233,000 (686 sq. ft.) up to $760,000 (2,094 sq. ft.).
The complex, at the Monterey Airport turnoff along Hwy. 68, is fully fenced and access-controlled, with abundant lighting, common-area video and security systems to safeguard owners’ cars. In addition to car collectors and motorsport enthusiasts, “low-impact” businesses (in terms of water use, traffic and parking spaces) have also been approved for MMP, such as select industrial, laboratory, medical, R&D and offices.

MMP’s aim is to overcome shortcomings of stashing valuable cars in mini-storage facilities, such as limited drive-in access, inferior rollup doors, inadequate power, lighting and no alarms. The Quail founder Gordon McCall, a member of the MMP development team, noted that due to the space-constrained Monterey Peninsula “There are few affordable, upscale opportunities for car enthusiasts to solve the…challenge (of) where we can enjoy our passion…away from our home garage.”
