In addition to on-track action, the village of Elkhart Lake will host more than 100 vintage race cars for judging and spectator viewing starting at 6 p.m. Friday for the first part of the Concours d’Elegance. The second portion, featuring more than 100 road and sports cars, is Saturday from 6-8 p.m., and all awards will be presented at 12:15 p.m. Sunday.

Among the race action on tap Sunday afternoon is a Formula 5000 feature (1 p.m.) to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the popular open-wheel racers, as well as a Historic Trans-Am feature (2:15 pm). See the provisional full schedule.
The track will also mark the 52nd anniversary of the Canadian-American Challenge Cup, known as the Can-Am Series, with one of just three contests on the Can-Am schedule this season. Much of its history was made at Road America — Bruce McLaren’s team won five years in a row (1967-1971), twice with McLaren and once each with Denny Hulme, Peter Gethin and Peter Revson — before Roger Penske’s team achieved Porsche-powered victories with George Follmer in 1972 and with Mark Donohue in 1973.
