Amelia Island Concours Announces Tally for Hurricane Relief and 2020 Highlight Events

Jacksonville, FL – We’re back with an update on our Sept. 19 story about the Amelia Island Concours’ efforts to raise relief funds for residents of the Bahamas after Hurricane Dorian slammed the island and stalled there for five days.

“Offering the opportunity to buy tickets for the Silver Anniversary Amelia Concours in 2020 for $125 with $50 of each ticket sale going to Bahamian hurricane relief seemed the fastest and most efficient way to send aid,” said Brian Webber, the event’s Executive Director. “We weren’t disappointed. By October 15, nearly 100 of our customers had stepped up to help for a total of $4,200. Thank you!”

In other news about the 2020 concours, a limited number of tickets are still available for the March 6 Porsche Driving Experience that runs from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

And in honor of Honoree Roger Penske, the event is offering a March 6 Penske Perfect seminar where Ray Evernham will host a panel discussion with Roger Penske, George Follmer, Jim Hall, Rick Mears, John Mecom and Rusty Wallace chronicling Penske’s career from his early days as a driver to developing the most successful racing team in history.

Then from 10:30 a.m.-noon March 7, Evernham is back with a panel of the people who have made Penske Racing successful from the beginning. Scheduled panelists for Team Penske — The Early Years include Chuck Cantwell, Don Cox, Walt Czarnecki, Karl Kainhofer and Woody Woodard. Penske himself will add closing comments.
