RM Sotheby’s Reveals Online Sales Results

Blenheim, Ontario, CANADA — After completing both its Open Roads North America and part two of its Lifetime of Porsche Memorabilia online auctions last week, RM Sotheby’s announced total sales of $2.879 million and $199,392, respectively.

The Open Roads sale included 92 classic cars and 10 lots of memorabilia. Landing in the top spot was a 2005 Ford GT that brought $291,500. Next were a 1994 Lancia Delta HF Integrale Evoluzione II ‘Bianco Perlato’, one of just 365 examples built and previously owned and restored by two-time World Rally champion Massimo “Miki” Biasion, at $137,500; and a 1956 Jaguar XK 140 MC Roadster, fitted with its numbers-matching engine and head and comprehensively restored in 2019, sold for $132,000.

The second part of the Lifetime of Porsche Memorabilia sale featured 210 Porsche collectibles offered entirely without reserve from a single-owner collection. Sales were led by the rare Introduction of the 1967 Porsche 911 S Press Kit, which received an outstanding 54 bids before selling for a final $11,700 — more than 10 times its high pre-sale estimate.

Additional lots that exceeded pre-sale estimates included a Porsche Crest Porcelain Metal Sign, Factory Advertising, ca. 1950-60s, sold for $10,800; a well-preserved Arova-Porsche 212 Skibob, 1970, acquired new by the consignor in 1972, that brought $8,400 following a flurry of bidding; a Porsche Crest Wood Sign, Factory Advertising, ca. 1970s, which sold for seven times its high pre-sale estimate at $4,200; a collection of Porsche+Audi Parade Magazines and Dealership Display License Plates, comprising 11 issues of the magazine and several license plates for various 911 models, at a final $3,720; and all four Porsche steering wheels offered in the auction, with a Porsche 356 A Derrington Wood Steering Wheel, 1956-59 leading the pack at $6,300.
