10/28/2012 - Roger Linton Named SVRA Tech Director
Southlake, TX -- Longtime member of its Safety & Technical team, Roger Linton, has been named as the new Technical Director of the Sportscar Vintage Racing Assn. (SVRA). In addition to being an SVRA member for many years, Linton is an experienced mechanic, having prepared numerous SCCA race cars and has been involved in the restoration of several historic race cars.
The son of postwar racing legend and pioneer foreign car dealer Otto Linton, Roger grew up alongside OSCAs and Elvas being prepared in the family garage for the early Nassau and Sebring sports car races.
SVRA president/CEO Tony Parella said about Linton, "I'm pleased to have Roger as part of the SVRA team and am confident that his breadth of experience and knowledge will be invaluable to us as we move forward." As tech director, Linton will be tasked with reviewing, developing and communicating the rules for all the cars and classes competing in SVRA events. Along with competition director Ray Snowdon, Linton will also develop and implement the simplified rules enforcement policies and procedures outlined previously by Parella.
Linton added, "It's a real honor to have been selected for this position and look forward to working with our competitors and the rest of the SVRA team throughout the upcoming season."
