12/17/2012 - Goodwood Ups the Aviation Participation at Festival of Speed July 12-14

The fourth dedicated Goodwood Aviation Exhibition is set to expand for 2013 as a fully integral part of the Goodwood Festival of Speed celebrating its 20th anniversary next year.

Following the successful relocation of the Goodwood Aviation Exhibition in 2012, this popular added Festival attraction will be moved even closer to the stunning Goodwood Parkland site for 2013.

The Exhibition will be directly adjacent to the many other Festival of Speed activities, including the 1.16mile hillclimb, and just a few meters away from the Moving Motor Show.

This will make the Goodwood Aviation Exhibition fully accessible to all of the 185,000+ visitors that are expected to attend next summers event, as integral as the other Festival of Speed displays and attractions, including the hillclimb action, the race car and motorcycle paddocks, Cartier Style et Luxe concours delegance, the supercar run and paddock, vehicle exhibition stands, retail market, Junior FoS, FoSTECH, Goodwood Action Sports and a host of other activities.

In 2012 the aviation show attracted around 50 exhibitors, with more expected to participate in 2013. Along with its new on-site location, the Goodwood Aviation Exhibition will also be expanded, and is set to include a dedicated military and civilian careers area, business lounge, plus military aircraft exhibitions.

Since its introduction in 1993, the Festival of Speed has grown to become the worlds leading celebration of transportation for enthusiasts, with the prime focus being automotive, but other modes of transport also being celebrated, from pedal cycles, right through to high-speed boats and aircraft. Daily air displays are a highly popular Festival attraction ranging from the Red Arrows to the UK public debut of the Air Bus in flight and exciting plans are already in place for next years event, with more news set to follow in the coming months.

The 2013 Festival of Speed will take place on July 12-14, with the Moving Motor Show being held on Thursday July 11.
