RPM Act Makes Its Way to House of Representatives

Washington, DC — Last week H.R. 5434 — the Recognizing the Protection of Motorsports (RPM) Act of 2019 — was introduced by U.S. Representatives Patrick McHenry (R-NC) and Raul Ruiz (D-CA).

If passed, the bipartisan bill will protect Americans’ right to convert street vehicles into dedicated race cars and the motorsports parts industry’s ability to sell products the enable racers to compete.

The Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) has been a proponent of the act from the start, and encourages everyone in the racing community to contact your local member of Congress to ask that he or she support the bill.

A sample letter is on SEMA’s website, and it will take you less than 30 second to complete and send it.
